PORCH PIRATES
A resident in the 500 block of Silverwood Ct reports that during the night on Monday 6/11/24 some unknown person(s) stole Amazon packages from the resident’s front porch. There is no further information at this time. (V43AB backs to golf course & Hwy 193, entrance is Overland Ln off Stags Leap)
From time to time, we have these “porch pirates” going through our villages looking for packages left on resident’s front porch. These thieves also follow delivery trucks and after delivery they move in and steal the package(s.) To avoid having a package stolen from your porch, register with UPS, FedEx and USPS. These companies will email you when a package is delivered. The drivers no longer bother ringing the doorbell so you need to have a heads up when the package is delivered. You can also have your package delivered to a store: FedEx: Lincoln Safeway, Walgreens on 12 Bridges UPS: Lincoln Safeway
SUSPICIOUS OCCURRENCE
On the afternoon of Wednesday 6/19/24 a resident in the 900 block of Truchard Ln responded to someone ringing her doorbell. She did not open the door but looked out through the peep hole. She could not see the person outside but heard him say he was delivering food to a neighbor and did she need any food. She declined. Then he told her that there was a hornet’s nest over her front door. This resident, very wisely, did not open the door and the individual left. Later she went outside and looked and there was no hornet’s nest. She did not see the individual but by his speech and voice she guessed he was a younger male. Never open your door to a stranger, man or woman. Talk to them through the door, a locked security door or a side window. Once you open that door you lose that barrier of protection.
