Burglary:
A residence in the 900 block of Granite Ct was burglarized sometime around Saturday, 09/09/23. The residents were not home at the time. This information was reported by a neighbor. The point of entry was the rear sliding glass door which was smashed out. The first to notice the damaged slider was a pest control technician who saw it on Saturday afternoon. He notified the neighbors. Loss to be determined. There are no known suspects at this time. The Lincoln Police responded and took a report. (V21 is surrounded by open space, entrance is Hidden Hills Ln off Stoneridge Blvd)
Attempted Theft:
On Thursday, September 7 a husband & wife went to Raley’s at about 4:30pm. As they were leaving they were followed by a young (30s-40s) Middle Eastern couple. When they got to their car there was a third person, an older man who tried to distract the husband by asking for directions. The couple started pushing their way through on the passenger side where the wife was trying to get in next to another car. The wife told them to “get away from me!” Once they passed, the woman turned around and had the wife’s wallet in her hand and said the wife had dropped it. The wife quickly looked inside and saw that the ATM card was missing. She said, “where is my ATM card?” The thief immediately handed it back along with the Raley’s receipt. The thieves started walking towards Taco Bell and couldn’t be found after that. The incident was reported to Raley’s and to the Lincoln Police Department.
Take an extra moment to zip your purse closed before leaving the checkout line.
We live in a relatively safe community, however from time to time there are opportunist thieves who go through our villages looking for open or unlocked doors or windows or signs of an unoccupied house. These thieves could be in a car driving slowly through the village or they could be riding a bicycle or just walking through the area.
The police cannot be everywhere, therefore residents need to be alert and report any suspicious persons or vehicles. This is the mission of Neighborhood Watch: Observe and Report.
If you see someone or some vehicle that arouses your suspicion call the police immediately. (Emergency phone # 911…Non-emergency # 916-645-4040) In the case of a suspicious vehicle try to get the license plate number and give it to the police dispatcher when you call.
