Director, Carole Edwards

Carole was born and raised in San Francisco.  She and her husband (deceased 2013) moved to a small rural town, Oakley, in 1988 and raised their two sons.  Oakley is no longer a small rural town and Carole decided in 2021 to move to Sun City Lincoln Hills.  Her youngest son and Daughter in Law had moved to Sacramento and are now the proud parents of two sons so the move to Lincoln was perfect for her.

She retired initially in 2016 after 34 years working for the United States Postal Inspection Service (Law Enforcement arm of the USPS) where she held several positions including Asset Forfeiture Specialist and Financial Analyst.  In 2018 her old agency asked her to come back as a Homeland Security Analyst and she did and worked as a contractor for 1 year.  She was offered a position with the Department of Defense, Defense Criminal Investigative Service as a Senior Financial Analyst and she worked with them until January 2023.  January 1, 2023 was her official and final retirement date.  She worked in many cities including San Francisco; Oakland; and Stockton and traveled to work in the States of Washington; Oregon; Hawaii; Guam; Georgia; Maryland; Florida; Texas; and Alaska.  She was a Certified Training Instructor and was a developer for multiple new and updated positions within the agency.

Over the years she volunteered for many efforts – from being one of the founding persons for East County Little League, Uniform coordinator and Secretary as well as scorekeeper for both her sons teams.  She campaigned for Oakley’s “Cityhood” in 1999.  She also was one of the founding persons for the new High School, Freedom’s Family Athletic Boosters and was their president for 7 years.  She was a volunteer for Freedoms “Every 15 Minutes” program and was the coordinator for six years for the “Safe and Sober Grad Night”.   She was also a member of the School Site Council.

After retiring in 2023, she volunteered for the position of Mailbox captain for two mailbox locations in Village 22a.  She also joined the Native Daughters of the Golden West in 2023 where she currently serves as the Financial Secretary.
