GARAGE THEFT

A resident in the 700 block of Orchid Ln. reports that on June 9, 2025, she was working in her backyard and left her garage door open for a few minutes. During that time, an unknown individual(s) entered her garage and took a complete set of “Callaway” golf clubs. She mentioned that the clubs have her name on them, but it can easily be removed.  The police responded and a report was taken.

NOTE:  Although we live in a relatively safe community, there are occasional opportunists or thieves who may drive, walk, or ride bicycles through our villages seeking easy targets, such as open garage doors, unlocked windows, or vehicles with valuables in plain view. It is important to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious persons or vehicles. For police emergencies, call 911. For non-emergencies, call 916-645-4040.

AMAZON REFUND UPDATE SCAM

A resident received a message titled: “Amazon Refund Update” The message began with “Dear Customer” and expressed Amazon’s gratitude for their purchase. It stated: “As part of our commitment to customer satisfaction, we regularly review orders to ensure that products meet their descriptions and our quality standards. During a recent assessment, we identified an item from your order that may not fully conform to the advertised specifications or Amazon’s quality guidelines.  To address this, we are offering a refund—no return required.  Once your request is confirmed, the refund will be processed to your original payment method. To initiate the refund process, please click the secure link below.”

Do not rely on links in emails or text messages!  Scammers use them to steal your information or take control of your computer, always visit the official website directlyAmazon will not request payments outside its secure platform or ask for account passwords or one-time codes.
