Attempted Burglary

A resident in the 300 block of Shepherds Ct reports that on Friday, 07/16/21 she had her son and daughter over for dinner. After dinner they decided to stay overnight. They all went to bed and forgot to lock the front door. At 1:00 AM the son, who had been sleeping in the front room, awoke and observed  a stranger walk into the house. The son confronted this person and the stranger fled out the door and disappeared.

Nothing was taken and no one was injured however this could have turned into a very serious situation if the resident’s son had not been there to stop the intruder. The police responded but could not locate the intruder.

This resident further stated that one of her neighbors had told her that a few days earlier he had heard someone trying his front door but it was locked. He never reported that incident.

This is a perfect example of why we always stress to close and lock your doors and windows when not in use!!!

We do live in a relatively safe community but from time to time there are opportunists who go through our villages looking for easy targets.

These individuals may be on foot, bicycle or in a vehicle.

They may be male or female. Always be alert and aware.

Immediately report any suspicious person(s) or vehicles to the police.

Emergency #911,  Non-Emergency 916-645-4040
