It is that time of year again! The Lincoln Police Department has partnered up with the D.E.A. (Drug Enforcement Administration) for the National Drug Take Back Event.
Hosted at the Lincoln Police Department, 770 7th Street, near the corner of 7th Street and H Street, the event will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025, between 10am -2 pm.
All Placer County Citizens are invited to participate. The event will be set up at the front of the Lincoln Police Department – allowing citizens to drive-through and drop-off any unwanted and/or expired medications, from over-the-counter drugs to prescribed medications. The process is fast, easy, and anonymous, providing a safe and responsible way to dispose of medications.
ACCEPTABLE ITEMS:
Prescription medications (current or expired), non-prescription medications (over the counter) veterinary medications, vaping devices (BATTERIES MUST BE REMOVED). All pills and liquids can stay in their original containers, Cross-out or remove personal information.
UNACCEPTABLE ITEMS:
No medical waste, no illicit substances – including marijuana.
NOTE: Flyer states NO SHARPS. However, LPD will be accepting these items as we have the means to properly dispose of them.

Western Regional Sanitary Landfill (3195 Athens Ave, Lincoln) Open 0800 hrs-1700 hrs
DRUG AND SHARPS DROP OFF LOCATION
As of 04/06/25 the locations listed below are NOT ACCEPTING DROP OFFS
Walmart, Walgreens, Target, and Raley’s.
