THE WINDOW WASHING SCAMMERS HAVE BEEN SUCCESSFUL

GRAND THEFT

The individuals listed below have been going around our community soliciting window washing jobs.

In one reported incident on Saturday 07/13/24 the resident on the 200 block of Timberland Ln hired these individuals to wash her windows. They then came inside her house and she wrote them a check for their work. At this point one, of the individuals told her that he had noticed something outside and she accompanied him outside for a few minutes. The other person remained inside the house. (V42B backs to golf course, entrances are Truchard & Water Wheel off Stags Leap)

After they left she noticed her checkbook had been moved. Later she found that two of her checks had been removed and that her debit card was missing. These individuals were then able to successfully cash one check for $4,000 but the bank reimbursed the victim. The suspects then tried to cash a second check for $5,200 but by then the account had been closed. They also tried to get some money from the victim’s debit card but that failed. Later that day one of the suspects came back to the victim’s house. The victim saw him and wisely yelled through the door that she knew he had stolen her money and he left.

WINDOW WASHER SUBJECTS

Two White males in their twenties. clean cut looking.  (Described as looking like college kids) .  Currently there are no additional physical description of the suspects or vehicle. A neighbor has a house camera and apparently gave the police a picture of the suspects and their vehicle. I will try to contact the LPD Liaison and see if he can provide anything more.

SOLICITORS MAY OR MAY NOT BE LEGITIMATE

From time to time we have people going through our villages trying to sell something or soliciting some type of service. These people may or may not be legitimate. Never open your door to a stranger. Talk to them through the door or a side window. Once you open that door you lose that barrier of security. If they are aggressive or arouse your suspicions, call the Lincoln Police immediately. (Emergency call 911; Non-emergency call 916-645-4040)  If there is a vehicle involved, try to get the license plate number and give it to the police dispatcher when you call.
