 SUSPICIOUS OCCURRENCE

On July 09, 2024, a resident on the 1100 block of Sun Valley Lp (V18 is near Orchard Creek Lodge, backs to Del Webb Blvd & golf course, entrances are Stoneridge and Rock Creek) reports that twice in the past two weeks the subject listed below, accompanied by two other subjects, came to resident’s front door stating he was a window washer. He had no equipment with him and at one point he asked to come inside to see if the windows needed cleaning. Both times this resident told him that he was not interested. The resident felt that these subjects were suspicious and called the Association’s Security Patrol Service –Vforce.  Security responded and collected the license plate number of this subject’s vehicle which was parked in the OC parking lot. Vforce Security did not give the resident a description of the vehicle. Apparently, the Lincoln Police were never called.

Subjects were white males, between the ages of 18 and 24 yrs., one subject was described as tall with curly hair below his ears with a mustache. No further descriptions.

These subjects may be  driving through our villages just looking for an easy target. Always report any suspicious persons or activity immediately to the Lincoln Police.  Never open your door to a stranger. Talk to them through the door or a side window. Once you open that door you lose that barrier of security. When reporting a suspicious vehicle try to obtain the license plate number and give it to the police dispatcher when you call.

In situations like this it is recommended that you call the Lincoln Police immediately. This would not be an emergency, so use the non-emergency phone number 916 645-4040.

GENERAL REMINDERS

  • Don’t be pressured into making an immediate decision.
  • Before having work done to your home, check a contractor’s license number online at California State License Board or by calling (800) 321-2752.  Always get a written contract, get multiple bids, and never pay more than 10 percent down or $1,000, whichever is less, upfront.
  • Never let strangers, unsolicited “inspectors” or solicitors into your home. Create a barrier between yourself and solicitors with a metal screen door or security door. Before letting inspectors or repairmen in, verify their ID with their employer.
  • Get in the habit of discussing transactions or purchases of more than $1,000 with a trusted family member.
  • For additional information click here to read a message from our Lincoln Police about solicitors.
