JEWELRY THIEVES ARE STILL OPERATING IN THE AREA
A resident reports that she was leaving the Raley’s parking lot at approximately 11:15 am when a white SUV pulled alongside her car. The driver appeared to be Middle Eastern. He asked if she was Filipino. She said no. He said his mother was Filipino and had just died. He said he wanted to give me her jewelry and held out 2 gold-colored rings. She wisely told him “No thank you,” and raised the window. He frowned and then left. When she arrived home, she immediately made a police report. The dispatcher said she would send officers to check on it. No further information at this time.
This is a recurring problem with an open investigation, so we need continue to be aware and IMMEDIATELY make a police report. In an emergency, call 911, non-emergency call 916 645-4040. Give the dispatcher the location, vehicle details, license plate number and any other details like the direction the vehicle is traveling. No detail is too small.
