AGGRESSIVE SOLICITORS
There have been incidents from time to time where solicitors go from house to house knocking on doors or approaching residents while they work out in front of their homes. Recently there were two such incidents one on the 700 block of Wagon Wheel Ln and the other on the 800 block of Bridalveil Ln.
WAGON WHEEL INCIDENT
The resident states that a young black man came to her door twice in one day. The resident wasn’t sure what he was trying to promote.
BRIDALVEIL LN INCIDENT
The resident saw the solicitor approaching his house, so he met the person via his open front garage door. This solicitor was waving a “flashy handout/brochure” claiming a long list of things that he and his crew could do next week, e.g. landscape maintenance, gutter cleaning, etc. The resident repeatedly told him that he had his own landscaper and he was not interested. At this point, the solicitor started looking at the resident’s “pristine white Ford F-150 pickup truck” which was parked in the garage. He questioned the resident about the truck’s condition and how much it was worth. “Everything changed,” the resident became suspicious that the solicitor was “scouting the neighborhood.” The resident asked the solicitor his name and he gave the resident his brochure which had the name “Junior” along with a phone number . The solicitor was described as an Hispanic male, 40-45yrs., 5′-10″, 185#, clean cut. Driving an older Ford Ranger. No sign on the truck.
