BURGLARY

A resident in the 200 block of Cabot Ct reports that while on vacation out of the country she received an alert on her phone indicating that there had been a break-in at her residence. This occurred on Thursday 05/23/24 at 7:30 PM. The resident’s daughter and the police responded and found that some unknown person(s) had gained entry into the residence by smashing the rear sliding glass door. The only loss noted, at this time, was a safe and contents. Some neighbors have exterior video cameras, and a gray color Toyota Prius was seen on the street during the time of the burglary.  The response time by the police was reported to be seven minutes from the time they received the call. No further information on the vehicle or suspect(s.)

WE LIVE IN A RELATIVELY SAFE COMMUNITY,

however from time to time there are opportunist thieves who drive, walk or bicycle through our villages looking for easy targets, i.e. doors left open or unlocked, valuables left in plain view in vehicles.

POLICE CANNOT BE EVERYWHERE;

residents need to be alert and report any suspicious persons or vehicles. This is the mission of Neighborhood Watch:  Observe and Report.  Call IMMEDIATELY to give police time to arrive. If it’s an emergency call 911, non-emergency call 916 645-4040.

WHEN DESCRIBING VEHICLES,

note license plate numbers, make and model of vehicle, color, age and direction of travel and give it to the dispatcher when you call.

Our cluster mailboxes are not secure so never leave outgoing mail in those boxes overnight. Make your deposits just prior to the drop by the mail person, and try to pick up your incoming mail the day it arrives. When on vacation have a neighbor pick up your incoming mail or fill out a stop notification and leave it for the mail person.
