If you have lost some mail in one of those incidents, you can contact the Lincoln Police Department. Their non-emergency phone number is 916-645-4040.  Ask to speak to the officer handling the arrest case involving mail theft and refer to Case # 24-331.

Traffic Tip Tuesday

Have you seen this sign? They are commonly found along roadways both in Lincoln as well as many other locations. The lettering on these signs may also resemble similar lettering found on the roadway nearby the sign with a large white or yellow line painted next to it. These markings on the ground are not graffiti and these signs actually mean something. As you can see there are letters which spell out the word “STOP”. The O in the word STOP also resembles a Zero. Which oddly enough is the speed your vehicle should be going upon reaching the wording on the ground, the painted limit line, or the sign depending on the roadway. While your speed should be zero, if you fail to stop as instructed, the fine you receive from the courts is sure not to be.

Please stop at posted stop signs and help us ensure that we all get to where we are going safely.

REMEMBER

ALL VEHICLES are required to obey stop signs – this includes golf carts, NEVs, and bicycles. Although they have their own lanes, they have to abide by the same traffic rules.
