ANOTHER ATTEMPT TO STEAL JEWELRY: One of our residents had just entered her parked vehicle in the Orchard Creek/fitness center parking lot when the listed suspect vehicle pulled up next to her vehicle. The driver (suspect #1) said 193, 193 where is it? At this point a female (Suspect #2) came from the suspect vehicle and up to the resident’s vehicle and tried to give her some jewelry, at the same time stating that it was her birthday. OUR RESIDENT REMEMBERED THE NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH BULLETIN IN WHICH THIS SAME SCAM WAS ATTEMPTED A FEW WEEKS PRIOR. She declined the jewelry and drove to the other end of the OC parking lot where she reported the incident. The Orchard Creek personnel went outside and looked for the suspects to no avail. This incident occurred on Friday 08/25/23 at 1:00 PM.
This is the fourth known incident of this type this month. In all the incidents the description of the scammers and their vehicle is the same as is their approach to the victim/resident.
Suspect Vehicle: Black SUV. Very shiny!
Suspect #1: Middle Eastern male, around 45 yrs, dark hair. Driving the suspect vehicle. No further description.
Suspect #2: Middle Eastern female around 45yrs, wears a scarf covering her hair.
A police report was made, and our private security has been advised.
If you are approached by these individuals, walk away, and notify the Lincoln Police immediately. Try to get the license plate number of the suspect’s vehicle and give it to the police dispatcher when you call.
