Tips of the Day:

1) Although the Lincoln Police Department publishes daily alerts about incidents reported to them, to protect the victims privacy, limited information is provided.  To assist our NW Alert team, after submitting your police report, please complete a Neighborhood Watch online incident report or email alerteditor@sclhwatch.org  Since scams and fraud are major problems in Lincoln Hills, we would especially like to hear about them.  We never use names!

NOTE:  The incident report may be submitted by a mailbox captain as long as they provide the victim’s name and contact information so our team can obtain first-hand information The sooner we get your report the sooner we can spread the word with accurate information.

2) During the day, leave the TV on to make your house sound occupied. Many TVs have a timer to conserve energy so there is a limit to how long they stay on.

Burglary: A resident in the 800 block of Boulder Ln reports that while away from the house, on Monday, 08/14/23 between 9:00 AM and 10:00 PM, some person(s) unknown entered the residence. Entry was gained by smashing the glass pane in the rear sunroom door then smashing the sliding glass door into the residence. The burglar(s) then went through all the drawers and a file cabinet. Loss, if any, to be determined. The Lincoln police responded and took a report. There are no witnesses or known suspects at this time.

We live in a relatively safe community, however from time to time there are opportunist thieves who go through our villages looking for open or unlocked doors or windows or signs of an unoccupied house. These thieves could be in a car driving slowly through the village or they could be riding a bicycle or just walking through the area.

The police cannot be everywhere, therefore residents need to be alert and report any suspicious persons or vehicles. This is the mission of Neighborhood Watch: Observe and Report.

If you see someone or some vehicle that arouses your suspicion, call the police immediately. (Emergency CALL 911 – non-emergency # 916-645-4040).  In the case of a suspicious vehicle, try to get the license plate number and give it to the police dispatcher when you call.
