Solicitor Scam: A resident in the 200 block of Stillwater Pl reports that on Sunday 03/13/22 the listed subject was going door to door soliciting money allegedly for the Lincoln High School football team. (V27 backs to golf course, open space & Del Webb, entrance is Millpond Ln)

This very alert resident did not fall for this scam. On Monday she called the school and they advised that they did not authorize any monetary solicitation.  The subject is described as follows: White male, 25+/- , 5′-8″ to 6′-0″, dark brown hair, carrying a clipboard. No further description at this time.

This resident did a very smart follow-up, and she notified our Curator Security immediately after the individual left. Curator works 24/7 and is a good contact when you encounter a non-emergency situation. They can be reached at 916-771-7185.

**There are individuals who will try all types of deception in an effort to get you to open your door. Never open your door to a stranger. Talk to them through the door or a side window. Once you open the door you lose that physical barrier of protection!!

Highway Alert:  A woman was driving east on Highway 80 when she felt the car behind her lightly hit her rear bumper.  She pulled over at a recess in the road and the other vehicle pulled over behind her. She got out of her vehicle as did the person in the other vehicle. They looked at her vehicle and there was a very minor scrape, but the other driver insisted on exchanging insurance information.  She opened her passenger side door and reached for her purse. At that point the other driver, described only as an Oriental male, 30-35 years old, grabbed her purse.

A struggle ensued but the male was able to get away with the purse and get into his vehicle. He was last seen driving east on Hwy 80. His vehicle was described as a very old, small car. No further description at this time. The police were notified.

There may be more details reported on the evening news. This information was from a blog on the internet on 03/14/22.

Do not pull over along the freeway or in a dark area. Pull over to a well-lit place with people around.
