Beware of Utility Scams

Neighborhood Watch has received numerous phone calls/complaints regarding representatives from a Renewable Energy company going door to door in Sun City Lincoln Hills.
After checking with P G & E and the Lincoln Police Department, we felt it necessary to share the following information:
- This company is NOT affiliated with PG&E
- You do NOT have to let them look your meter or show them your PG&E bill
- You do NOT have to share ANY personal information
- Always ask for documentation and identification, including their City Solicitor’s Business License – if they say they don’t need one, Call Lincoln Police non-emergency at 916-645-4040.

NOTE: PG&E employees always carry their picture identification and are always willing to show it to you. Call the PG&E Customer Service line at 1-833-500-SCAM (7226) if a person claiming to be an employee shows identification and you still feel uncomfortable. They will verify an appointment and/or the presence of PG&E in the community. If you still feel threatened, notify local law enforcement.
