For those with cognitive disorders like Alzheimer’s, dementia and autism, A bracelet about the size of the average watch could be the difference between life and death.  The bracelets are part of the Lincoln Police Department’s Project Lifesaver Program. The bracelets emit a radio frequency that helps police officers locate someone who has wandered away from home and may not be able to find their way back.

The Lincoln Police Department has joined the National Project Lifesaver Program. Trained personnel are ready to operate Project lifesaver equipment to assist in the location and safe return of at-risk individuals. The search times for certified Project Lifesaver agencies have been reduced from hours, potentially days, down to minutes. Recovery times for Project Lifesaver agencies average 30 minutes, which is 95% less time than standard operations without Project Lifesaver. To learn more about this vital program.
