Recent Incidents in Lincoln Hills
1…..(Vandalism) During the night of Friday, 07/02/21 some unknown person(s) cut off the ends of a resident’s garden hose and stole a plastic bucket. Both items were in the front yard of a residence in the 2000 block of Mary Rose Ln. The hose ends were found about a block away, but the bucket has never been located. (V30A backs to Del Webb Blvd & golf course, entrances are Cottage Rose & Rose Bouquet)
2…..(Attempted SCAM) Two of our residents have reported the following phone scam which goes like this: The resident receives a phone call (from a 916 area code) in which the SCAMMER tells the resident that he/she has won a Reader’s Digest prize of 8.5 million dollars. The resident is instructed to call another number (Area code 833) and ask for Ryan
Richardson. The scammer tells the resident that if they don’t call that number the money will be turned over to the State. At this point the residents became suspicious and hung up on the scammer.
3…..Another common scam involves email regarding an Amazon order. The message claims a large charge to your account and to click on a link if it is incorrect. Do not answer the email or click on anything in the email. Delete the message. Call Amazon Customer Service at (206) 922-0880.
Anytime you receive a call that you did not initiate and you do not recognize the caller’s name, don’t answer the call. If the call is important, the caller will leave a message.
If you have any question or doubts about any call, contact a relative, friend or neighbor and ask for advice. Never give out any personal information to a stranger. This includes any caller who may identify himself/herself as being connected with a law enforcement agency. (download PDF version here)
