1…..A resident in the 600 block of Gold Strike Ct reports that a neighbor’s outside camera caught two individuals attempting to gain entry into all the vehicles that were parked outside. This occurred in the very early morning, around 4:45 AM. Fortunately, in the video, all the vehicles were locked. Unfortunately this was not reported till a day later when the resident checked the video recording. There is no reported loss at this time. 3…..(Phone Scam) One of our residents answered a phone call and was SCAMMED. The loss was $1,000 dollars. I was unable to obtain any further information as to the type of scam.

4…..(Vandalism/Harassment) On the 2500 block of Woodacre Ln there is an ONGOING situation where one of the residents has been constantly harassed by someone who periodically has been throwing food products on the resident’s driveway. This started out with eggs, then salami, then meat partially out of the wrappings. A next-door neighbor recently found a half-eaten apple in their driveway. This resident is concerned that the person doing this harassment is mentally ill and could escalate this situation. At this time the perpetrator has not been identified. The Lincoln Police and our Private Security have been notified and police reports have been made. Anyone with additional information should contact the Lincoln Police!! 5…..(Theft) On Friday, 1/29/21, an Amazon package was stolen from the front porch of a home on the golf course side of the 1100 block Overland Ln. It was delivered at 5:15 pm and was gone at 5:45 pm. Later that afternoon the next-door neighbor confronted a person walking between their houses. She was wearing a backpack and carrying a package. The woman stated that she was walking toward the fairway to meet her family. She continued on and it wasn’t until a couple of days later that neighbors spoke and figured out it was most likely this person. Suspect description: Middle-aged white female about 5′ 4″ with brown hair wearing a backpack and a hat. 6…..(Vehicle Burglary) On the 2500 block of Winding Way during the night of Monday, 2/1/21 a vehicle window was smashed. Although there were items of value and the contents were rummaged through, nothing was taken. (V22B described above)

Safety Tips

  • We live in a relatively safe community, however from time to time there are opportunist thieves who drive through our villages looking for easy targets, i.e. doors left open or unlocked, valuables left in plain view in vehicles. Always close your windows and lock your doors when not in use.
  • OUR MAILBOXES ARE VULNERABLE!! NEVER LEAVE MAIL IN THESE BOXES OVERNIGHT.
  • IF YOU RECEIVE A PHONE CALL FROM SOMEONE YOU DON’T KNOW, JUST HANG UP. WHEN IN DOUBT, TAKE A PHONE NUMBER. CONTACT A RELATIVE, FRIEND OR NEIGHBOR.
  • If you see suspicious activity, call IMMEDIATELY to give police time to arrive. If it’s an emergency call 911, non-emergency call 916 645-4040.
  • Call Postal Inspector 877 876-2455 to report mail station break-ins. Notify your Village Coordinator to spread the word.
