Catalytic Converter and 2020 Census Badge Thefts

1…..One of our resident’s reports that some person(s) unknown removed/stole the catalytic converter from their daughter’s Toyota Prius. The vehicle was parked overnight in their driveway in the 100 block of Calistoga Ln on Sunday, September 20, 2020. There are no known suspects at this time. The Lincoln Police responded and a report was made. The resident was advised that the Toyota Prius is a preferred vehicle for this type of theft. Never let strangers, unsolicited “inspectors,” or solicitors into your home. Create a barrier between yourself and strangers with a metal screen door, security door or talk through a window. Before letting inspectors or repairmen in, verify their ID with their employer.

ALWAYS BE ALERT AND AWARE OF YOUR SURROUNDINGS. THAT IS YOUR FIRST LINE OF DEFENSE.

The police cannot be everywhere, therefore residents need to be alert and report any suspicious persons or vehicles. This is the mission of Neighborhood Watch: Observe and Report.

Call IMMEDIATELY to give police time to arrive.
If it’s an emergency call 911, non-emergency call 916 645-4040.
TRY TO OBTAIN THE LICENSE PLATE NUMBER ON ANY SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE AND GIVE IT TO THE POLICE DISPATCHER WHEN YOU CALL.
