Visit our website at  sclhwatch.org . Click on Alerts , just above the photos. There you will see all the Alerts sent out since the new website went live in June, 2018. We have many flyers dealing with safety tips that can be found when you click on SECURITY  in the menu bar with the brown background.

1…..A resident lost $2,000 in a “Microsoft Cyber Scam”. No further information at this time.

2…..Another resident was contacted by a “Scammer” who alleged that her computer was infected with a virus. This resident paid $300 to have the alleged virus removed. The “Scammer” later called back trying to get more money but the resident became suspicious and hung up.

ALWAYS BE WARY OF ANY PERSON WHO CALLS OR EMAILS STATING THAT THEY ARE TECHNICIANS FROM MICROSOFT.  MICROSOFT TECHNICIANS WILL NOT CALL OR EMAIL YOU!!!!

IF A “NOTICE”  APPEARS ON YOUR SCREEN AND YOU CAN NOT REMOVE IT, JUST UNPLUG THE COMPUTER AND WAIT A FEW MINUTES.  THEN PLUG THE COMPUTER BACK IN AND IF THE “NOTICE” DOES NOT GO AWAY, CALL A LOCAL COMPUTER TECH.

Spread the word to your friends and neighbors who do not have email!
