Alert_3577_6.jpg1….A resident in the 1200 Block of Longhorn Ln reports that in the late evening of Wednesday 08/01/18 or early Morning of Thursday 08/02/18 some person(s) unknown entered his truck and took everything in the glove compartment and center console, including his ” Disability Parking Placard”. The truck was parked in the resident’s driveway. There was no sign of forced entry. Apparently the resident had forgotten to bring in a recently purchased present, and it had been left on the front seat of the truck. The Lincoln police responded and a report was made.

Alert_3577_7.jpg2…..Two female residents report that they have received “SCAM” calls from an individual who attempted to extort money from them by threatening to reveal “Alleged pictures of these ladies looking a Porn Videos”.!! Neither resident fell for this “Scam”. In one case the “Scammer” had the resident’s old email Password and he demanded $2,950 in “Bit Coins”. He gave the name Everett Sirruzza , email address: EZ Lawrence WCB@outlook.com !!

3…..Recently, one of our ALERT RESIDENTS (who happens to be a retired Deputy Sheriff) was at CVS Drug store in Lincoln when she overheard the clerk in the line next to hers ask the manager how to handle a $500 Google Gift Card Purchase. The resident immediately suspected that he was a “Scam victim” trying to make the purchase. She and the CVS manager spoke to this individual/victim and determined that he had already purchased two $50 cards and had given the “Scammer” the code numbers on the back of those cards. He was advised and reluctantly said he would report the “Scams” to the police.

We live in a relatively safe community, however there are opportunist thieves who, from time to time, drive through our villages looking for something to steal.!!

ALWAYS LOCK YOUR VEHICLES WHEN NOT IN USE AND NEVER LEAVE ANYTHING, OF ANY VALUE, IN PLAIN VIEW.

When you receive any type of suspicious or threatening email just “DELETE THE MESSAGE”, and never click on any message from an unknown source !! When in doubt contact a relative, friend, neighbor or call me.

Number 3 (above): is an example of how being “AWARE AND ALERT” we can help each other, and possibly prevent or mitigate a crime, and it also shows how convincing these “SCAMMERS” can be. According to resident, the victim in this case was so scared he may or may not report it to the police.
